A book by Kris Jones

I Want
to Believe.

A 50-year skeptic. A lifetime of honest questions. One very unexpected roommate.

A little humor. A lot of honest questions. And the possibility that faith begins with making room—not having it all figured out.

For believers, skeptics, and seekers alike.

Good questions welcome.

You don’t have to have all the answers.

Bring your questions. Bring your doubts. Bring your story.

Inside the book

What if you simply opened the door?

I didn’t go looking for faith. I’m a hairstylist-turned-AI-guy who spent 30 years as a skeptic — then I started asking the questions I’d been avoiding, and they turned into this book.

Through the ridiculous idea of a new roommate who never pays rent, I explore doubt, wonder, and the possibility that faith starts with honesty, not certainty.

Warm, funny, and honest, this is an invitation to real conversations, deeper hope, and everyday moments where something more might be waiting. No borrowed certainty. No pretending. Just room to explore.

The author

Hi, I’m Kris Jones.

I’m not a pastor. I’m not a theologian. I’m the guy who did your hair for 30 years and then wrote a book about God anyway.

Entrepreneur, creative, and lifelong question-asker.

I live in Southern California, and before writing, I spent more than three decades in the beauty industry—including training at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica and working as a high-end hairstylist. My career eventually expanded into sales, marketing, business development, and artificial intelligence, where I founded Aid Media Now, an AI-powered lead generation and marketing agency.

I Want to Believe came from a different part of my life. I’m not writing from the perspective of someone who has faith completely figured out. I write from the perspective of someone willing to ask the questions many people quietly carry: What if I want to believe, but I still have doubts? What would it look like to actually make room for something bigger in everyday life? And what happens when faith becomes less about having all the answers and more about being willing to have the conversation?

Using humor, honesty, imagination, and the idea of Jesus as the ultimate new roommate, I explore belief in a way that feels personal, conversational, and approachable.

Away from business and writing, I enjoy playing guitar and keyboards, making music and beats, drawing, surfing, cooking, and spending time outdoors. Whether it’s business, creativity, or writing, curiosity and experimentation drive everything I do—and I believe the most important changes often begin with simply being willing to open the door.

Kris Jones.

Maybe the first step was not deciding what I believed about Jesus. Maybe the first step was simply making room.

Beyond the book

Work with me.

The book is the beginning of the conversation, not the end of it. I coach a small number of people 1-on-1 through seasons of reinvention — career pivots, creative blocks, faith questions, starting over. No bossing, no preaching. Just someone who’s walked it, walking it with you.
